U.S. Midwest Dairy Waste-to-Energy Project
A major dairy processing facility in the American Midwest partnered with an anaerobic digestion project developer to transform high-strength wastewater and byproducts into renewable energy. The solution centered on a proprietary anaerobic pretreatment system capable of removing ~99% of biodegradable contaminants from dairy effluent, eliminating costly off-site waste hauling and surcharges. Implemented as an outsourced service, the project demonstrated both technical excellence and financial viability.
Puran Water’s Role: As process engineering consultant for this domestic project, Puran Water delivered comprehensive front-end feasibility study services, supported piloting efforts, and facilitated procurement processes. We continue to provide technical support through the construction phase, ensuring successful project delivery.
Taiwan Biogas Center Project
Expanding our reach beyond U.S. borders, a project developer in Taiwan engaged an anaerobic digestion technology supplier to implement a biogas center utilizing rice wine stillage as the anchor feedstock, supplemented with additional substrates as needed. The facility was engineered to produce biogas powering two 300 kW combined heat and power (CHP) units.
Puran Water’s Role: Puran Water provided comprehensive process engineering services, led procurement processes, managed equipment delivery logistics, and delivered technical support during construction and process commissioning. Post-commissioning support through additional RFIs ensured stable operation and long-term success.
